Monroe uses the Accuplacer test as placement in Math and English, assessing skills like Reading, Writing, and Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry) to place students in appropriate courses and confirm eligibility for certain clinical programs. 

What is the Accuplacer?

  • Covers Reading, Writing, and Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry).
  • Confirms eligibility for clinical programs: Nursing, Surgical Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Education.
  • Helps place you in courses where you'll succeed.

Before you go

  • Make an appointment.
  • Bring a valid photo ID.
  • Arrive at our testing centers: 2501 Jerome Avenue, Bronx or 434 Main Street, New Rochelle
