Varsity Esports

Monroe Esports is a varsity program with the record to back it up. Now in its third year, our Mustangs have earned multiple NJCAAE playoff appearances in Valorant, League of Legends, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Teams train at Encore Esports, our official partner facility, with real coaching, scheduled practice, and official Mustang jerseys.

Get Involved

Gaming is part of the Monroe experience, and it all runs through our Discord. Join to connect with other Mustangs and keep up with campus gaming events, including weekly open play in the New Rochelle campus cafeteria with the Monroe Gaming Club, featuring a rotating variety of games. Esports Internship Program

Monroe Esports also serves as a launchpad for career development, offering a hands-on internship program aligned with multiple academic pathways. Interns gain direct experience supporting both Encore Esports operations and the growth of Monroe’s esports program across strategy, events, and media.

Internship Tracks

IT & Network Operations
For students in IT or Cybersecurity
Interns support LAN setup, troubleshoot hardware/software, and help document and improve IT workflows.
Deliverables include maintenance logs and process improvement proposals.

Event Logistics & Operations
For students in Sports Management or Hospitality
Interns assist in event setup, scheduling, and on-site coordination for tournaments and gaming nights.
Deliverables include event logistics plans and recap reports.

Media & Promotion
For students in Communications, Marketing, or Design
Interns create and manage social media content, assist with livestreams, and contribute to Monroe Esports’ brand presence.
Deliverables include a content portfolio and engagement performance reports.
